All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive at the time of booking confirmation or upon vehicle pickup. This document outlines the key terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Pudsey, you must be at least 21 years old, though age limits may vary depending on the vehicle type. A full, valid driving licence for the relevant category is required, along with proof of identity and current address. Valid payment information and a security deposit are necessary, as well as any other conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Pudsey office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pick-up. All pricing is listed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and must be signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same state as it was provided, accounting for standard wear and tear. Any new damages will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. The vehicle should be returned with the same level of fuel it had at the time of collection; otherwise, refueling fees will apply. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please inform us if you anticipate a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that arise during your rental period, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. You can find comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts within the Rental Agreement. Options for additional insurance may be available to limit your financial exposure. It is beneficial to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless additional coverage is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance provisions.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on your booking type and the notice given. For specific information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Vehicles rented from Car Hire in Pudsey must not be used for any illegal activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any actions that pose a risk. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting to unauthorized individuals is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden, as is using the vehicle for purposes it is not intended for. Adhering to specified passenger and weight limits is essential, along with staying within the agreed geographical boundaries without prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Pudsey will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claim is limited to the total amount paid for your rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in these regions.
